If you’re anything like me then in your mind Valentine’s Day is synonymous with sweet treats that tend to involve sugar, chocolate and all those other delicious things. This year, however, I’m going to take a detour and ditch the extra calories in flavour (that was purposeful) of some healthier alternatives. I’ve been half-heartedly dabbling with a sugar-free diet for a while now, so I’m going to try hard not to cave to the chocolate-cake crave.
Luckily, there are plenty of banting/ sugar-free dessert recipes out there. I turned to my trusty Pinterest board and Jamie Oliver for inspiration:
“The best healthy brownies with no flour, no refined white sugar, no butter, and no eggs. These delicious brownies are easy to make and include an optional frosting recipe made using Greek yogurt!”
“Low Carb Buttermilk Waffles are just as easy as pancakes!”
“These muffins have all the flavor of carrot cake without all the extra calories. I actually cut out the oil and butter completely and substituted crushed pineapple that goes so well with carrot cake anyways. Trust me, you don’t miss the butter or oil in these.”
“If you have any leftover fruit salad or fruit that’s on the turn, chop it and freeze it until you want to make this. Lose the yoghurt if you want to go for a sorbet vibe. ”
“The filling sets perfectly and before you know it you will be indulging on a piece delicious, guilt free low carb cheesecake. Even if you are not on a low carb diet, you will love this!”
I think I’m going to opt for the cheesecake! I’ll let you know if I make it and how it goes xxx
